Pre-rinsing is such a 90s thing. People really used to do it often back then. Sometimes so thoroughly that I always wondered why we even have a dishwasher.

By "pre-rinsing" I understand the removal of larger food residues and bigger amounts of leftovers – as described by . A bit of water to loosen oatmeal, rice, or mashed potatoes from a dish, or to rinse tea leaves from a cup, belongs to it for me. I was helplessly opposed to this pre-rinsing refusal, which was executed with complete ignorance in our household, for over 20 years. It led to the dishwasher repeatedly stopping its service, and the responsibility for solving the problem was transferred to me. Several times I opened the device and gave it a thorough interior cleaning. After moving into the new house, I simply did not get another one. For me, the problem is sustainably solved.

You just push that into the organic waste with a fork. There’s no need for "pre-rinsing" for that. For 30 years, my dishwashers have worked flawlessly with dishes cleaned of the worst leftovers in this way.
But if I leave the cutlets on the plate and wrap the spaghetti around the dishwasher arms, of course it can’t work either.

Yep. That’s how it is. At best, soak a pot a little, e.g. one in which rice pudding was cooked, because it sat on the stove for three days and the layer has become rock hard. But those are absolute exceptions, once a month.

No matter what you call it or whatever it failed on - it was a human-machine mismatch in our household. That of course does not mean that the dishwasher is the problem. I already wrote that.
