Good morning,

as always very short notice for our , it is time to finalize the bathroom planning. We have a very similar floor plan to , with the exception that a toilet has to be placed at or near the bathtub position.

The builder made the following proposal (looks a bit chaotic because the original design is underneath). I still don't like it because I don't see any reasonable space for 1-2 bathroom cabinets. Also, I think the entrance area could get wet when showering, and I find the number of partition walls rather ridiculous.

I have planned another design, which I hope can be implemented by the building services as well. I would be very happy if you could give your assessment. Many thanks!

The idea behind the design is to realize a walk-in shower and protect it somewhat against splashing water with a small piece of glass around the corner. I would make the wall between the shower and toilet half-height and put a glass panel above it, possibly a bit longer. Do you think this could work like that?

I’m attaching our bathroom for you.

The walk-in shower is also in front of the door for us, and it doesn't splash towards the entrance area – shower mat in front of it and that’s fine.

Thank you very much! That is a good 10 cm more than we have, but that shouldn't make much difference. Do you have the wall to the shower going up to the ceiling and do you forego the sunlight? The towel radiator naturally has a great spot there!

We had a glass shower in the rented apartment for years, including very hard water – that annoyed us terribly. Therefore, in our two bathrooms (also townhouse like yours) we subordinated everything to the walk-in shower – it is tiled up to the ceiling. However, one could of course also build only half high and install a glass panel. That would have been possible for us as well. However, this is the bathroom on the children's floor. Both are still very small and currently just sit in the bathtub – and later as teens, daylight in the shower probably doesn't matter much to them. However, we did not install the towel radiator there because we currently simply do not need one.

With us it is exactly the other way around. I can hardly find any limescale in the water here, we have never descaled our kettle and it has probably been running for 5 years now.

We would therefore like a bit more glass and fewer tiles. But now we are uncertain again regarding the bathtub in front of the window. For now, we will sleep on it and tomorrow we will first check with the TGA planner whether our plans are heading in the right direction.

In Germany, there is an aversion to having a tub in front of the window, and I don't understand why.

My bathroom

The shower is to the right behind the door, the toilet is next door. The bathroom is small.

I have shown this one of my daughter's several times

The toilet is to the left behind the door. The door is in the middle. To the right is a 2m high cabinet. The room is 335x265.
