Hello everyone,
My husband and I are about to buy a bungalow (from 1967) and then renovate it. Of course, this involves quite a few considerations and planning. First, I want to finalize the planning for the bathroom. This is the first time we are undertaking such a large project. Therefore, I would really appreciate numerous suggestions and tips!! First, I want to finalize the planning for the bathroom. This is the first time we are undertaking such a large project. Therefore, I would really appreciate numerous suggestions and tips!! [*]The original bathroom has a really awkward layout, so our plan is to combine the current guest toilet with the bathroom. Since we plan to integrate the attached granny flat into our living area, we would have a separate guest toilet later, and the rough construction dimensions for our main bathroom are: 3.57 x 2.32 x 2.50.
[*]The door width is 76 cm, the distance from the door to the wall is 12 cm.
[*]There are transom windows on one wall.
Here is the floor plan:
It is important to keep the following points in mind during the planning:
[*]We want to apply for subsidies for the renovation, so the door must open outwards – would a sliding door be an option? Does anyone have experience with that in bathrooms?
[*]I want a partition wall to the toilet so that the toilet is separated from the bathtub!
This should be included:
[*]A bathtub (dimensions preferably 180x80 or larger); a corner bathtub would also be conceivable
[*]Walk-in shower
[*]Toilet
[*]Washbasin (Geberit One has a sensible concept for us) and a narrow mirror cabinet: I want to be able to store everything that is commonly needed daily in the bathroom either in the mirror cabinet or the washbasin cabinet so that around the sink as little as possible stands out.
[*]Indirect lighting: ideas for small lamps on the wall, on the floor, or around the bathtub or mirror cabinet are welcome
[*]Also, an unheated towel holder near the bathtub
[*]I imagine a tile backsplash (approx. 120 to 150 high (?)) on the bathtub, shower, and toilet.
[*]As for tiles, I currently imagine large bright square tiles for the floor, concrete-colored tiles for the wall, and part of it should be colorful.
