Basement without additional flooring / cleaning floor slab

If the walls are already up, I definitely wouldn’t change something like [Estrich] now. Then all the heights won’t match anymore and the thing with the stairs is actually important.

Isn't there special paint for that? Like concrete sealer, basement coating, moisture-resistant paint for the floor… I've seen quite a few buckets of it at the hardware store. There must be something for sealing sandy concrete?!

You can use garage paint. But it’s not cheaper either. You can’t keep a raw floor clean. Even vacuuming is annoying. Mopping is impossible.

Thank you for the hint. I just did some research. Apparently, there is a concrete oil that is very good at repelling dirt and water.

But it does not fill the uneven surface and is meant for polished surfaces. I don't want to wipe up spilled liquid detergent or a broken jar of preserves there. :rolleyes: That is really a crazy idea. And an uninsulated basement? Is that even allowed or do you insulate the ceiling?

I would have the technical room tiled (so that it is definitely finished on time) and do the rest of the tiling myself at some point. Otherwise, you will have less fun cleaning on raw concrete.
