great description! That’s exactly how it should be done. As an addition, maybe apply the sealing slurry 2-3 times in the area of 15cm :)

Yes, I meant waterstop Kellerdicht. One bucket (large and heavy) was enough, it cost a hundred-something. Dry it looks like bitumen. When wet it has a gray shimmer as if there were acrylic in it. It is also water-soluble when fresh. And that's right, of course you can make a mess with it. But it spreads well, don’t worry. You have to tape off well, I like to use yellow fineliner, and remove the tape early, also don’t brush into the tape because of the plaster texture. It’s easy to do yourself. Painting is quick, I needed longer for the height line so it doesn’t meander and for the taping definitely more than for one coat. All in all, measuring around the outside approx. 150 sqm foundation slab, I needed about 3-4 hours for preparation, for the coatings each somewhat less. I worked comfortably. I don’t align the top edge with the laser level according to the terrain but I follow the color separation line between the base plaster and the remaining plaster. Otherwise, it looks crooked.

Now still to process: The water will not immediately run in if you could leave it open until spring, base plaster is for the base after all, it actually seals as well. You’d just have to clean it in spring before painting, of course. Maybe it helps you if you specifically look for material that copes with the current temperatures. Alsecco has technical advisers you can call. A good construction manager would do as well.

If it all has to be done before Christmas I would definitely outsource it because of the warranty at this outside temperature.

Best regards Gabriele

Hi Gabriele,
Thanks for your detailed answer.
I just received an offer: 204€. It was probably cheaper for you 3 years ago.
Do you have a construction manager from Bad Rappenau?
If I remember correctly, you also had a problem/warranty issue with Heinz von Heiden?

Our site manager is no longer with Heinz von Heiden. It still gives me goosebumps today.

Yes, we had difficulties for a long time and only finished settling the last amounts a few weeks ago. In 2 cases, we conducted evidence preservation procedures, it was incomprehensible that they had to be conducted at all. The house never really felt like my own because of the years of drama.

Best regards
Gabriele

The direct sales from Alsecco are very friendly. I was able to negotiate a bit. Now a bucket costs just under €185. @ : I plan to only paint the retaining wall area. The landscaper has already ordered the retaining wall and wants to start soon. Therefore, I have to do it now. Thanks for the tip about the temperature.

Excuse me, I just thought of a few questions

- According to the data sheet, it is green to brown (wet) and black (dries). Do you like the color black?
- If I understood correctly, you painted directly on the base plaster (Armatop Carbon)?
- I plan to paint the blue area. What do you think about that?
(the beveled insulation boards will still be skimmed by the plasterer)
- According to my calculation with 2 coats, we then have 50m2. According to Alsecco's information, one 25kg bucket is exactly enough. How many coats did you apply? I'm considering whether to just order 2 buckets (to be safe)

THANK YOU for the information and experiences. I wish you a nice evening.

I also only applied 2 well-dried coats. They were applied directly on the colored base plaster. No, I did not find the black paint aesthetic. However, it can be painted over with a color matching the base plaster. I set the height a few centimeters above the splash guard. The splash guard is a gravel strip with a firm garden-side boundary. However, our house stands on a level plot. Therefore, unfortunately, I cannot form an opinion about your blue area. What you order too much of, you will unfortunately be able to throw away after winter.

Best regards Gabriele
