A note on processing temperature in general: this refers not only to the environment but also to the substrate.

There was no reinforcement on the slope for us and I simply painted over it.

Hello everyone,
after a few months break without the forum, I am allowed to report something again.
We have moved in in the meantime
Everything is still chaotic but we are happy.

: how did you paint over bitumen? (With which material?)
A craftsman told me that bitumen is like asphalt. You cannot paint over it. Or you have to use special material (like for road marking)
Thanks in advance for your help.

Congratulations on moving in! A very special moment when you have finally arrived. All the best for you :) Regarding the base: You chose a base color during the sampling, and it is also fixed in the additional order. This is what you paint over. The basement sealant is not pure bitumen, otherwise it really wouldn't work. But the base coat itself is still the responsibility of the construction company. Please remember the necessary temperatures for processing and drying. Best regards Gabriele

Thank you for your answer.
I understood it this way: you have insulation, on top comes plinth plaster (e.g. in my case in grey). Afterwards you (and I) painted with the cellar seal bitumen (in black). Afterwards you still painted colors (later).

Did I understand you correctly?

If yes, I wanted to ask which color you used for that?
(to cover the black color)

No. I hadn’t really understood the base sealing at all. Black base sealing material had been applied by various trades in multiple places. I saw traces of it sticking out in several spots and assumed that everything necessary had been done. Shortly after, during an inspection of the window sills by the "site manager," he complained that we hadn’t applied such insulation at the base. It was specified somewhere in the details as the responsibility of the client. I didn’t even know what details were supposed to be if one insists on that exact word. But I got a bucket of it and processed it.

The base paint seemed to me to be the normal facade paint in a darker shade. You chose the shade yourselves. It’s fixed in your documents. I was able to read it from my documents. Our house had to be repainted last summer due to other construction defects, and I had to do the tender for it. For that, I also had to be able to name the base paint. Otherwise, you could simply call your site manager again.
Best regards
Gabriele
