Hello everyone,
I am new here and surprised that I first knew the English-speaking Ikea Hackers site before I became aware of this one...
We will start building our own home in about a year and will take our Faktum kitchen with us (we probably can't afford anything new in the first few years and we like it anyway!). Since we have just moved into an "interim apartment," I have reordered additional elements and fronts for local adaptation, so that we would be well equipped. What worries me is the "connection" of the IKEA front to the built-in fridge/freezer planned for the new building (at the moment we have a freestanding appliance). Do I need special parts from the spare parts shop for this? A lot of things are only available in IKEA-specific measurements... I have to reorder something anyway and would appreciate tips for good "hamster preparation"!
Regards,
Liesepetz

Hello,
if you buy a device with [Festtürtechnik], you don’t need anything. For [Schlepptürtechnik] you need the refrigerator hinge. The [Schlepptürbeschlag] should be included with the device.

Super, thanks, that is really great news. I had already ordered the refrigerator hinges just to be safe. In another thread, I had already read that there are no problems with the front for a built-in dishwasher with FAKTUM either, or you can simply screw a 60 x 70 door onto it. Then the investment in the Faktum series is hopefully worthwhile for many more years.

If the machine is fully integrated, 60 x 70 fits. It would be economically and ecologically nonsensical to buy a completely new kitchen as long as the old one is still in good condition.

Nice that others think the same way. There is a painter in the family who could eventually repaint the fronts. That way, you should be able to enjoy your kitchen for a long time. My parents' 30-year-old fitted kitchen looks a bit shabby and worn on the fronts, but even that could be spruced up...

I still have a question about built-in refrigerators (as mentioned, we currently have a freestanding fridge/freezer combo): I was just going to order a door with a height of 125 cm, but I realize that the freezer compartments usually have separate doors. Are there standard heights for this? The available options for 60 cm doors are 35, 57, 70, 90, 92, and 125 cm in height. Although I prefer to order an extra one just to be safe, not all of them are necessarily needed.

It mainly depends on the size of the freezer and refrigerator compartments. Choose devices that could be suitable and study the dimension drawings. With FAKTUM, some models do not fit, at least not without tinkering like assembling fronts.
