I believe after oiling it will really be less. And then after three years anyway. It all darkens. Don’t drive yourself (or the craftsman) crazy.

Sure, I think so too. Still, one could have been a bit more careful. After we complained, the same floor was laid at the neighbor’s place without major brightness fluctuations. Thanks already for the feedback so far.

Yes, one wouldn't do something like that oneself, but they just didn't care. Get it done quickly and move on to the next construction site...

It's really a matter of taste. But if it helps you at all: I find the floor beautiful just the way it is. The color differences actually make it look natural and emphasize the real raw material. I'm already a bit pale with envy. We are generally satisfied with our vinyl flooring in wood look, but the manufacturers try not to make it look too uniform, but against your plank floor mine suddenly looks like it was taken from Tedi. o_O

Of course, you could have mixed it, although the dark boards would then stand out individually. We currently have second choice boards laid out over a large area, and the professional just started laying them down, even though I gave him a plan of the furnishing and repeatedly told him to place "less attractive" boards, for example under the kitchen furniture, pantry, under the bed, etc. Despite being second choice, the quality is great and yet he has already laid in the third board with a small flaw. Under the bed, however, everything is fine. The same in the kitchen and living room, where there are two reddish boards right in the middle of the room, but the pantry is excellent and also under the sofas. I think not even beating would have helped there. He was really nice but didn’t understand what I meant. I can also see his pronounced clumsiness in the corner solutions of the stairs... I’d say even this looks away, so I would worry less with you, even though it could have been better. Depending on the oil or color pigments in it, you might not see anything later, it’s probably similar with the first flaw you still mourn... :D

Yeah yeah... we debated back and forth for weeks "country house staircase, yes or no" - in the end invested a four-figure amount in the beautiful stringer staircase, instructed the moving company and all craftsmen to EXTREME CAUTION with the staircase - and then my 1-year-old throws his constantly drooling feed-me dino full speed over the door gate down the stairs. The deepest scratch of the whole thing is right in the angle of the daylight through the front door. You basically cannot not see it.
