Worn out in the sense of the shattered trust in functional communication is at least the current architect, from whom the OP probably will not dare another design. As usual, when someone masters the art of talking past each other at a high level, the conviction that it must be the other's fault is included. So next there will probably be a new architect and the story will repeat itself.

The problem is, the plot does not get any flatter in the meantime and thus the necessity exists to compensate the budget burden caused by the topology in terms of size and equipment. What an architect can never achieve is a hillside castle at a flair price.

Even if that's true, we don't know the further information. That wasn't the first architect. Something is probably still going wrong there. That is completely correct. We don't know the specifications and their priorities, only that a budget was mentioned multiple times as one of the specifications. Possibly the architect complied with 30 other specifications. We don't know, and the story is strange. Based on this information, I would not bash any architect in a forum.

... but I also do not claim that one is to blame oneself.

Who did that? I think there is a behavior pattern to recognize here, which is supported by the existing facts (known floor plan ./. Post #7) + the fact that apparently discounts were paid, although according to reports contract components were not fulfilled.

That's true.
"Blame" is also a nonsensical term in this matter.
A free and mature person, who is also in the role of a client, always bears personal responsibility for the outcome. There is a widespread trend to distance oneself from this when challenges arise. I recognize this trend in the posts of the OP. A pity.

I agree with you on that one hundred percent.
