Addendum:
In the last few weeks before the installation, we drew about 13 kWh/day from the grid.

Since the installation, it has been 6.

I think and hope that with the battery, I can reduce it to 3-4 in the months from April to September.

I am really curious. Of course, I will report more here later with more solid data; currently, the quick glances at the display just don't provide a complete picture.

Currently, 1.4 kW is feeding in, today only 3.7 kWh were generated.

Well, the system should ALWAYS be designed for maximum yield, even if that yield represents self-consumption. A photovoltaic system is not a whim purchase just to show off in the city.

It's simply a shame to waste 1kWp on 6.6kWp. The broader distribution over the day never compensates for the loss of yield at noon. Unfortunately. Therefore, I find particularly flat (not in your case) east-west systems only useful to maximize yield per area.

But with the roof pitch and orientation of a finished house, there's not much you can do anymore. That has to be done during the planning phase.

That is correct. I had to position the house that way; I couldn't and wasn't allowed to rotate it. Same with the roof.

A photovoltaic system was not my focus at the time. The idea came later, when the house was already built.

As I have already written here, the photovoltaic system is purely an idealistic measure, not financially based. There are certainly much better investment options than a photovoltaic system.

I now live with the fun and also with the downsides.
I will break even - well, that's already great.

Best regards
Thorsten

Do you have a Solarlog or another monitor? This is my evaluation for the current day, very nice is also the display of the additional benefit due to the "soft" design of the 70% regulation - and the consumption display (consumption in green).

Hi Elina,

I don’t have exactly that yet. A small but essential system component is still missing. It was not available at the time of installation. Nevertheless, it was decided: The system goes live as is for now.

This component is called SMA Energy Meter.

Without this device, I don’t have any portal data yet. The system cannot connect to the LAN or the internet.

The battery cannot be charged, and the only display option I currently have is the screen with error messages and very few general infos. Because of the errors, I can’t access other menus either. I only get flashing lights on the display.

Hopefully, when the missing component is integrated next week, I will have the kind of data you show and then, as said, know more.

Best regards
Thorsten

Well. Great weather today.

Sun's peak position or not. Basically, this O/W system has no peak.

It starts (current season) work around 07:15, i.e. supplies the base loads with 400-600 watts, has about 3.5-4.0 kW from 10:00 onwards and happily messes along. Display values are virtually frozen. It is more like a kind of constant current source. I think in the afternoon it will go slightly above 4 kW again.

No disappointment, it was meant to be like that for this house, which I can hardly turn southwards anyway (especially with the broken leg, but even otherwise it would be difficult and against the building regulations). The system delivers sufficient and more power from early to late, even with washing machine and dishwasher +2 computers I still have feed-in to the grid currently.

Okay.
