Sure, you may be right, but the wet snow clothes don’t go in the closet in the hallway either, they go into the bathroom. What would be, in your opinion, the required hallway size? Or how do you build?

Well, in a single-family house you have more width available, a semi-detached house or terraced house is very narrow. You have to calculate in centimeters. You have to figure out what works with your floor plan. Do you have a basement? If not, what is under the stairs? We are now planning 2 meters in width by 3 meters in length, but everything is open to the dining area. Under the stairs we have a room for the mentioned jackets and shoes. Basically, the design should always plan at least 120 - 150 cm or more for a 60 cm deep wardrobe. And the more children, the larger the radius of action when dressing and undressing. Maybe more readers will chime in here on the topic of [Garderobe] :)

Our current hallway is 1.65 m wide and I didn’t want it any narrower. Especially not in my own house, where the entrance already looks like a cave that I enter.

However, in our current rental apartment, we have our wardrobe directed towards the guest WC, which provides space for jackets, coats, and shoes. In the actual hallway, we still have a small shoe rack for the shoes we currently need.

We also have experience with children and I have to say, even if you pay close attention to making sure the kids put away their shoes and jackets properly, it always, always, and always happens that the entrance area is a shoe battlefield

To your question: For me, 1.54 m would already be too narrow, but 10 cm less is out of the question! Would those 10 cm really give you more space in the kitchen?
If I understood you correctly, you are planning an island parallel to the right wall of the plan. I assume you also have a row on the left side of the kitchen, right?
If I then calculate:
left wall of the plan: 60 cm wide kitchen row
+ 90 cm space in between (minimum width!)
+ 1 m island
Then you would still have 75 cm left from your 3.25 m.
If you add 10 cm now, that would be 85 cm and still very tight.

I believe your expectations get stuck on the kitchen planning. Because of a kitchen that is 10 cm wider, I wouldn’t design the entrance area of the house (and thus the calling card) like a mouse hole.

Your calculation is correct. The 1m wide island is 3.06 m long. We will not place the front side of the island directly against the window but 60 cm away from it. This way, the island extends a bit into the dining area. With a house length of 12 m, I think that will still be within limits. If we keep the hallway at 1.54 m, which I personally would be fine with, then the 75 cm width from the vestibule to the island would not be over the entire 3.06 m but only along 2/3 of the island... But frauchen wants an 85 cm passage... Women :D all relatives who have children, after all, also have a hallway of at least 1.60. Then the 1.44 really gets tight.

so that the hallway doesn't look like a long tube, you could set the wall to 2 m instead of 2.6 and keep the 1.54...

Maybe consider if it fits to make the hallway wider and shorter, up to the kitchen window and the depth of the toilet door. Maybe it harmonizes with the counter. And then you have space for a wardrobe in the hallway
