That is not impossible. Don't you have an architect?

The formulation is:

The exterior basement walls are cast with 25 cm thick, formwork-rough concrete on both sides, watertight according to the structural analysis. At the connection of the rising wall to the floor slab, a joint sealing tape is inserted. From the top edge of the basement ceiling downwards, 100 mm thick rigid foam insulation boards and a dimpled plastic membrane are installed all around on the outside.

The architect has drawn a submission plan; this was transferred into a working plan. However, we awarded the trades individually together with our construction supervisor.

Even here in this thread, basement concrete is equated with the product "White Tank," which is not true. In this respect, I would not immediately agree with the statement :)

This corresponds to the construction of a White Tank in my opinion, but still is not one. The White Tank includes supervision by a specialist and all the fuss that comes with it. But who really needs that.

Be that as it may, as described, the thing is watertight. It does not need a black coating.

But I find this interesting as well:

Actually dowelled and not glued?
I would really question that because the WU concrete only becomes watertight due to its thickness. A dowelling action would not be beneficial for that. Normally, perimeter insulation is glued.

Attached as promised is a picture .... in the base area, these dowels were shot into the now 25cm thick concrete wall. But this is not only the case with our shell construction, also with the neighbor. Between some panels further down there are gaps which, according to the expert who was here yesterday, need to be filled. He also said that with our soil conditions we do not need the black layer and was of the opinion that in winter it would even seal everything too much so that the air could not escape from inside to outside ... Well, we will now approach the shell constructor to have all damaged panels replaced and the gaps filled before it is backfilled.

I find it quite odd that XPS is being dowelled in the perimeter area. Especially since the waterproofing of a WU concrete basement depends on the material thickness and this is weakened at the drilling points.

But if even the expert talks about breathable walls against soil, it’s probably going to get pretty funny there.
