More like a rework attempt joke, including superglue instead of mortar or what?

I already explained that this afternoon??? – all subcontractors (his window sub, your kitchen studio, etc.) should please measure themselves, that’s all it means. Nobody expects you personally to stand there with a level at the installation date and shim the house on the floor slab *ROTFL*

No, that is special PU foam from the Wienerberger Dryfix system. So that masonry can also be done below 5°C. That was fine. Only the execution was as if I had tried it myself while drunk.

Seriously: with us, there was more or less permanently one of those laser leveling devices lying around. No idea if it was some fetish thing, a craftsman status symbol, or simply a method to avoid real work. But whoever showed up first set up a tripod with a flashing thing, and bam, it looked like Star Wars. And the walls (as I said, timber frame) were planned by our tiny village house builder with CAD, and their interiors were then precisely cut with CNC machines and assembled in the factory... of course including window installation. The roof elements and interior walls were also prefabricated and delivered. And you simply can’t put up interior walls incorrectly — they butt up against a neighboring wall and don’t just end randomly in nowhere. We didn’t have a hack saw, not even sawdust.

This should hopefully be standard in timber frame construction today. You simply can’t go wrong. I’m just saying so poor won’t have even more sleepless nights.

What is true though: the work planning should be carefully and thoroughly checked — if there’s a mistake in there, it will run through to the bitter end (with us it was two stacked windows in the ground and upper floor that didn’t exactly align. The phrase “you won’t even notice the 5cm later” was already the low point of the planning).

So far, I do not assume that we have subcontractors. Preliminary contractors for the earthworks, as usual, yes. Let's see what the house builder replies. We will install our kitchen ourselves.

Yes, we are waiting for the answer. I have made it clear that we cannot take on the responsible checking of the dimensions due to lack of appropriate training and measuring devices.

And just before that you measure the actual dimensions (also taking into account deviations from plumb and angle), instead of ordering according to planned dimensions and then complaining later if it doesn't fit. That and nothing else is "responsible checking"! The measuring devices in the specific example are a meter stick aka folding rule for the dimensions and a spirit level to check whether the determined measurements are also valid lower and higher and whether length, width, and height are perpendicular to each other. The training includes placing the meter stick and reading glasses to interpret the measurements in sufficient light, as well as holding the spirit level and checking whether the air bubble is between the markings. No drama!
