I better didn't ask the bricklayers about that. The site manager just said, that won't stay like that. I think he got angry then, otherwise he always protected them. A few days later, a lot of lightweight plaster was slapped over it.

We bought an inexpensive laser distance measurer and measured everything. Since we planned with our furniture, a deviation of 20-50cm would not have been tolerated. Everything was exact to the measurement +/-1cm

We will certainly also measure "roughly," out of curiosity. But the note "responsible" worries me. What if we overlook a few centimeters too much or too little somewhere and the house becomes tilted, the walls or floors are crooked, the windows don't fit, the doors are crooked, etc.? We simply cannot take responsibility for that, and from my point of view, it would not be fair for us to be held accountable for it. If the manufacturer of a prefabricated house, which I assume is partially machine-made, cannot take responsibility for the accuracy of the dimensions, then the builder, I stand by my opinion, as a layperson and without special measuring tools, certainly cannot.

We try to check everything as far as possible. Of course, this is only possible thanks to home office and very nice supervisors. We have a construction expert, but we also like to review things ourselves. So far, every plan (from very different trades) has had errors. Seems completely normal. After first being called "neurotic first-time builders" by the civil engineer (very nice and with a grin), we measured the floor slab formwork. In doing so, we discovered that one side was 6 cm too short. Our construction expert was there the next morning, and by then they had made it 6 cm too long ;) Now it's okay, only one centimeter too short. But that's fine for the house and within tolerance. We are currently waiting for the execution plans. We will also take several days to thoroughly check them.

I'm going to ask very naively and really seriously now. Have you ever asked what this passage means for you?

When building a house, the following still applies today: The carpenter works to the millimeter, the joiner to the centimeter, and the bricklayer is happy if he stays within the property boundaries. This also applies in the year 2022, even for engineers of a car manufacturer from Ingolstadt. ;)
