Dear experts,
for our garden shed we would like to reroof the roof with trapezoidal sheet metal. We plan to install cross battens and counter-battens on the underlay and have now become uncertain regarding the question of which wood we should use for the battens. Many instructions for trapezoidal sheets mention the absolute necessity of impregnated battens. However, in no tutorial or instructional photos do we see impregnated wood, and at least for tiled roofs, it has apparently even been prohibited since 2012 to use impregnated wood. Could you please clarify this? For the sake of the environment, but also because impregnated wood currently seems harder to obtain in our region, we would be grateful if we could manage with standard spruce/pine rough-sawn battens 24/48mm.
Thank you very much for your advice!
