Hello Extexo,
Your windows have an internal stop. This is very common in existing buildings. It was made to provide constructive protection for the external joint between the wall and the window. This is also beneficial for resistance against driving rain. By the way, this is still used today, although the stop nowadays consists of insulation material from the ETICS and is installed afterwards.
The guide rails do not become wider. Instead, they are set back. Ideally, so far that about 1.5 cm still protrudes. The exact measurement is a matter of taste. You should also let some of the frame protrude so that the dimension of the frame extensions almost calculates itself. You can have the roller shutter box run across the entire width of the element or cut out the extensions and have part of it run past the shorter roller shutter box. This depends on your specific connection situation.
Please remember to specify how far the guide is set back when ordering the retrofitted roller shutter so that the roller shutter curtain is cut accordingly.
