Which type of camera for the house entrance area?

Then there is simply no seamless surveillance in every direction. It's not a prison or a commercial operation in the border area but a single-family house in a residential neighborhood.
Set up the cameras so that typical access areas are monitored and that's it.
You know your surroundings better, I claim the burglar won't carry your TV over a route where he has to climb over three fences and hedges, but on a reasonably "convenient" path. That's where you look.

I see it similarly. Four cameras optimally positioned and I would be d’accord.
Are there any recommended complete systems (plug & play)? My previous favorite was the Bosch Smart Home Eyes, but they are out due to Wi-Fi, hence the question about an alternative. Why do I mention Bosch? To show what kind of approach/standard I follow or am looking for.
Regards, Stefan.

Still Dahua 5442 series with NVR or NAS. Per camera costs about €180 - €250, NAS starting at about €500 (Synology DS218+ with 2x3TB). As always, there is no upper limit. Regarding storage in the NVR/NAS, it's obviously crucial how long you want to record. With 4 cameras at 4MP and high FPS, it may be that 3TB is just enough for 24 hours.

I have to honestly say that I am completely overwhelmed at this point and have deliberately left my answer open for a long time. I have noted everything here that is very valuable information, but I don't know what to do. Is it common to record just 24 hours? What do you do on vacation? Then it will be permanently overwritten ‍♂️

In the meantime, I was able to get the Synology DS718+ cheaply and have 2 x 4TB running in RAID. I always record on a rolling 21-day basis. It should definitely be more than 24 hours. You also don't necessarily need a super high FPS rate. I believe I have 2 cameras at 4MP and 15FPS. For 21 days, it was about 960GB of data per camera.

No, of course, recording is event-based. Unless one explicitly wants a 24-hour recording here and there. Then you make sure to have the appropriate hard drive capacity. But certainly not for all cameras.
