I myself have no knowledge of electrical work.

However, I know someone who is knowledgeable in this and can set it up for me.

We are buying a new semi-detached house from the builder.

But I don't think the builder can offer us a smart home (conversations with the electrician are still pending) or that the price would be reasonable.

What preparations would an electrician have to make for these smart home wishes? Can you possibly estimate what that would cost?

Express your wishes as early as possible. After signing the contract, you are probably at the electrician's mercy, which can range from "we can't do that anymore" to "costs 5-10K EUR."

You could try to enforce that all consumers/switches or buttons are centrally routed to the distribution board with 5-core cables. Keyword "star-shaped wiring."

Otherwise, install deep flush-mounted boxes.

The topic is discussed here every week.

Then the child is not yet in the well after all. You gave me the impression that everything was already finished.

Then let the GU electrician first offer what he can do and what he knows about. Maybe there's something useful among it.

And believe me, designing a system right away to do a bit more (or much more) is always cheaper afterwards than tinkering with a finished one.

It already starts with which cables are laid/will be laid and which are not.

I have to sign the purchase contract for the standard house soon

Special requests come later

I thought that these bus lines are way too expensive (had read KNX about 10-15K EUR). That’s why I thought we would just do everything step by step wirelessly

So I should first clarify which wired smart home can be offered?

Just found out that someone got a smart home from Busch-Free@Home with the builder (but I don’t know if others are possible)
