"My house, my ceiling height, my doors" You should just reflect on what a higher door gives you. It's only about aesthetics, which you have to pay for. In the end, after living in the house for half a year, you won't waste a glance on it anymore. If you want to hang pictures on the wall, that might have negative effects besides an overly high door (ceiling height too), and also the Germans' favorite three-piece wall unit looks somewhat strange next to it. Low furniture is currently trendy anyway - combined that might be visually borderline. Tall cabinets fit better again... but could also give an office-like feel. So match it with your style, not with others' numbers.
