Hello,

I need help choosing the right flooring.

We are looking for the right flooring for our new build for the [OG] and [DG].

We will have underfloor heating in the [EG], [OG], and [DG] of our house.

In the [EG], we will have tiles installed everywhere.

What flooring can you recommend for the [OG] and [DG]?
We definitely want to lay the flooring ourselves (for cost reasons).
Budget max. approx. 35€/m².

I have searched but was somehow overwhelmed by the large selection of floor types.

Laminate and vinyl are the classics for affordable floors.

Parquet is probably too expensive for us; we won’t make it with max. 35€/m².

What are biofloors, design floors, or cork floors?

Which usage class should we choose if the floor should be as durable as possible?
Should you always choose the highest usage class?

We also have a dog (in case that is relevant for the selection).

I hope you can help me.

These are marketing terms that can stand for all sorts of things. Best to remove them from the vocabulary and see what is really behind it.

There is already a longer discussion on this topic here:

Cork is natural, bio and design floors are made of plastic, i.e. PVC (with plasticizers). There is also linoleum and bamboo parquet, bamboo (fiber) is cheaper than wood. Otherwise, just use the forum search, the topic is indeed discussed quite often ;)

So I know "Designboden" as a term for vinyl and a type of printed tile. I know "Bioboden" as a marketing term for linoleum. But it confirms my statement above that such terms should be better ignored.

thank you for your answers.

Which type of flooring would you recommend for us?

I didn't know cork and it looks somewhat unusual.

I think design floors are the same as vinyl, just a different name, possibly a different design on top.
Bio floor is also similar to vinyl, just without PVC and plasticizers.

I don't really understand parquet at all.
What do the following terms mean: finished parquet, veneer parquet?
Which type of parquet would you recommend? We would like to lay the floor floating with a click system, is that also recommended for parquet?

Which manufacturers can you recommend for laminate, vinyl, or parquet?

HARO or Parador are probably great and recommendable, right? Which other brands are also good and recommendable?

Which car should I buy? Sorry, but you have to decide that for yourself, what you like, can stand for, and also trust yourself to install.
