Is the extra cost really worth it for the "normal user"? Or is it more of an investment in the (distant) future?
At that point, I was more focused on the emphasis on "underground cable". Ultimately, the extra cost for CAT6/7 is negligible as well, so you should directly invest in the future here? :)
Well, ideally four (double) sockets would have to be installed. Then relevant end devices could participate in global communication via cable. However, I would then have to go around the entire house on the facade.
Stupid(?) question: Doesn't a switch reduce the bandwidth?

In my view, the idea of laying the cables outside is at least by far the better one.
