By the way, we had the cables in a protective conduit, such a flexible black one.

Are there actually any significant qualitative differences between the CAT7 cables? I do see quite large differences in price.

I have now tried AVM FRITZ!Powerline after all. However, in the basement, significantly less is received than over WLAN. Too bad ...

To be honest, I am no expert in this regard, but I assume that the differences are not significant for the average person. The properties as such are normatively regulated. Beyond that, there are the "higher quality" variants, which then, for example, have even better shielding, etc.... Yes, it really is only suitable as a last resort when nothing else is possible. It could also be that it worked great for you on the first try and then didn’t work at all the next day ....

Electrically, no.

But physically there are differences, which are regularly declared:
- Generally, it is not designed for outdoor installation because it is not UV-resistant
- There are also versions with rodent protection, which makes assembly more difficult.
- etc.

For indoor installation, the simplest version is generally fine. Available on large reels for under 1€/m

Pay attention to the individual wires to ensure they are made entirely of copper.

There are also some made of CCA. Here, the core is made of aluminum and the surface of the aluminum is coated with copper. These wires are more prone to breaking, but they are cheaper. They are often offered in the river or the bay.
