What should I consider when using Wi-Fi?

Hello,

I would like to have WiFi throughout the entire house.

Here is the plan:

- on the ground floor, the router will be placed under the stairs in front of the utility room (it is actually not recessed, at standing height)
- on the upper floor, an access point will be placed at the stairs to the attic (ceiling height)
- in the attic, an access point will be placed in the hallway on the drywall (ceiling height)

Question: is this sufficient or are the positions suitable, and can you recommend specific products?

Thanks and regards!

Do you have a LAN connection at all locations? If yes, then I would install a Unifi Accesspoint AC Lite on the ceiling in the upper floor and attic respectively.

If the positions fit, then I will have some laid there (still have a few days, then the plasterer is coming) ... in the ground floor at the utility room it is at least already planned with the electrician.

It would be optimal for the access point, of course, if they are centrally located on the floor, so on the upper floor I would place it further towards Child 3. The access points either need a power outlet or they must be powered via PoE through the LAN cable.

I just thought of something ... I want a southwest terrace .... see attachment, should I then install one at both positions or is one enough and which positions then? (I want to avoid the pillars for structural reasons)

So, green or blue position?

Does it not matter whether it is via PoE or power outlet?
