Unfortunately, that is not correct. Every classic repeater in your network significantly reduces the data rate because it cannot send while receiving packets. So, with a repeater, the packets are in the air twice as long, thus halving the data rate. The interference with other networks is doubled.

Many thanks. Very clear explanation.

Should I do the following: In the basement is the star point where all the network cables from all rooms meet. There a router, e.g. FRITZBOX 7360, is planned. On the ground floor in the hallway under the ceiling about 30cm, I plan an extra network connection + power outlet, there an Access Point is intended. For WLAN, that should be sufficient for the entire house. If not, any other network cable connection can be connected with a new Access Point. Correct?

You don't need a power outlet if the access point is powered via PoE (network cable).

Well, 2 APs have the disadvantage that you have to manage two times. A CAT cable is also present at the spot, but it was unnecessary. And why buy a separate PoE injector for that?

But I asked different people. Everyone said that a power outlet is also provided. Which is correct?
