Hello everyone.

We are thinking about building and of course also want to know if we can manage the ongoing costs. Therefore, I am currently trying to estimate the general costs. Now I just wonder, what have I forgotten??

As basic data, I have always taken a 2-person household with 130m² living space:

Waste disposal: 15 €
Water: 40 €
Electricity: 50 €
Insurance (building / household contents / ...): 70 €

What else regularly occurs (monthly / yearly) in a home?

Your listed amounts generally apply... so also in a rental apartment, except for the buildings. What spontaneously comes to mind are: Property tax Chimney sweep Heating maintenance Heating (gas, oil otherwise definitely higher electricity costs with heat pump) Telephone possibly street cleaning I do not have values for these, certainly not a complete expansion of mine yet.

Since we currently live rent-free and only contribute a flat rate, these would be "new" expenses for us. Therefore, I cannot say what all the costs would be.

Who would have benchmark values for property tax and chimney sweeper?

In the cost calculation I am currently preparing, 200 € per month have already been set aside for gas/oil, maintenance, repairs (e.g., washing machine, etc....).

I had forgotten phone, thanks!

What do you understand by street cleaning?

Hello,

so I just created a file via Excel regarding our incidental costs.
2 people.
About our house:
New building 2010 KFW40(Energieeinsparverordnung 2009)+Swedish stove
I already come to about 250€/month without the chimney sweep and not yet all exact data like water consumption/sewage, recurring contributions from the municipality, etc.

I think we will stay around that amount even if the aforementioned amounts become relatively fixed since we use very little gas and electricity (completely equipped with LED).....

In some communities, street cleaning is charged to the residents. So if a street sweeper cleans the sidewalk and street at your place. So 200 euros is, I think, rather unrealistic. With your breakdown, you are already at 175 euros. I also think like Holzwurm, that you rather have 250-300 in fixed additional costs plus repairs. Regarding electricity costs, it is hard to say. Others should have something to say about that. I think for a 2-person household, you can assume about 3000 kWh plus heating. If you apply a rate of 22 cents.....that is about 55 euros per month. As I said, I’m not exactly familiar with this, but you can google something like this. I hope this helps.....

Thank you.

The 200 € / month are purely set aside as reserves, for example to fill the heating oil tanks or for any repairs that may be necessary.

The 175 € are calculated separately.
