We slowly want to replace our old bed because it is no longer comfortable to lie in. We have already read a lot about the advantages of waterbeds and box spring beds. We have already looked at quite a few. However, we are interested in concrete experiences from owners of such beds.

Waterbed is great. However, I can only compare it with regular beds. I have never had a box spring bed.

I think everyone has a different and personal feeling about that. It is the same with the firmness levels of a cold foam mattress, as with pocket spring mattresses, soft toppers for box spring beds, and waterbeds.

You probably can't avoid trying it out.

Waterbeds have the advantage that the spine is always straight, which does not work that way on all other bed types. The waterbed is also very precisely adjustable to the weight of the sleeper. Cold feet belong to the past in bed, as the waterbed is always warm. And do not forget hygiene; you won’t get other bed types as clean as a waterbed (interesting for allergy sufferers). We have been sleeping on a waterbed for 10 years and have been significantly more rested since then (we no longer toss and turn so much), we can only recommend it. The problem is, you really cannot test it, since sleeping on a waterbed once will probably cause back pain (due to the high degree of relaxation of the back). However, anyone who does not want to sleep on something “wobbly” will never like it.

Addition: For stomach sleepers, I don't really find waterbeds suitable either. Unless you take the very expensive ones, which have a very, very high stabilization.

We are also looking for a box spring bed. But they are incredibly expensive. So far, we have not found what we wanted. Except for one. But there the bed is simply too expensive at 3500€.
