Hello dear ones,

me again

The following: we are currently planning a kitchen based on Faktum with a countertop height of 95cm. We also need to fit an existing washing machine under it. However, it is of course not 95cm high, and I would of course like the toe kick to be continuous. Is there anyone who has had this problem before? If yes, how did you solve it? We want to avoid buying a new washing machine as far as possible. I found platforms online, but they are then significantly higher.

Thanks and best regards
Christian

I had the same problem once, but with a height of 90 cm. I placed the washing machine on a piece of countertop. For 95 cm, I would put it on two countertops screwed together and level the rest with the feet of the washing machine. A continuous plinth was not possible for me because the plinth recess of the machine was too small. I then screwed a plinth panel to the countertop so that at least the surface and color matched the rest of the plinth panel.

Think being an Ikea expert's post is very sensible! I wouldn't do it any other way either!

I would also recommend simply using suitable wood scraps as a base here. I would screw this in place and additionally glue it with wood glue so that everything is rock solid! Additionally, I would put an underlay mat for washing machines underneath to prevent the vibrations from being transmitted so strongly to the floor.

Hello,

thank you very much for the tips, I think I will go with the worktop option

Best regards

I bought a special built-in washing machine (not from IKEA). During installation, I noticed that it is not screwed to the countertop and you can only slightly raise the washing machine so that a gap of several centimeters remains to the countertop. At first, I thought I had bought the wrong washing machine but apparently, it is intended that the washing machine should have no contact with the countertop. See also the picture from Ikea: There is a gap of several centimeters to the countertop above!
