Hello,
we are currently renovating a single-family house built in 1956 and replacing the old gas heating and radiators with a heat pump and surface heating. The plan is partly underfloor heating, partly wall heating behind clay plaster.
Our heating installer has offered us:
- As underfloor heating "Athe Fix" including 40 mm ATHE-VUNO cement screed on top
- As wall heating "ATHE F-Modul heating for floor, wall or ceiling"
"Cover foil with a thickness of 150 my
ATHE-F module heating register in predefined
and prefabricated dimensions,
heating pipe square cross-section measuring 12x12mm,
total height at the manifold 24mm
edge insulation strip, sound insulating and
to accommodate the thermal
stress of the screed (linear expansion)
If necessary: additional heat and
impact sound insulation according to the Energy Saving Ordinance".
We have now been to the building materials store to inquire about clay plaster. The employee there was very skeptical about the wall heating; on the one hand, in her opinion, despite the ETICS outside, it is still advisable to insulate between the wall heating and masonry with wood fiber wool or similar, on the other hand it is important to have a "diffusion-open" system, which in our case is not given due to the cover foil.
As laypersons, we are now quite uncertain whether we should simply trust our heating installer, or whether there might be something to the criticism.
Do you have an assessment of this? Are there experiences with the "ATHE F-Modul" system?
Thank you very much!
