Good morning everyone! I came across this forum via Dr. Google and hope someone here can help me. Over the past few years, I’ve delved deeper into the world of Ikea due to moving out of my parents’ house and later moving again. Of course, I also browsed the kitchens and even made a purchase. Everything just as I wanted it, happily even for self-assembly... perfect! Now my girlfriend and I have moved, and of course the kitchen came along! Back then we didn’t have the money anymore, now the kitchen should also be equipped with a wall trim. After a long wait, the strip Numerär was available again in oak... so I went straight away and bought it. Unfortunately, in my excitement I lost the eye for detail (any kitchen DIYer will know that can have consequences).. Because now I have the problem, what do I do with the corners?! Ikea doesn’t offer inner corners for the wall trim?! Has anyone had the same problem and how did they solve it? My visit to the hardware store brought the sobering realization that corner profiles are only available from individual manufacturers and for their own wall trims! Many thanks in advance!

Hello,

since it is made of solid wood, I would simply miter the corners and glue the cut edges with silicone.

Yes, I also had that idea... but it might look shabby, right?! Somehow, for me, that's the last option =/

Plastic corners look mediocre in my opinion ... and even worse if you combine them with a solid wood strip. A clean miter joint looks better.

Yes, they are usually mitered normally... you also often see that in the IKEA kitchen department. And I agree with the IKEA friend: some kind of corner profile, possibly made of plastic, is nonsense.

However, I also find those things quite ugly, or rather too wide. If you have gaps of 25 mm, okay... But otherwise, I would get something slimmer at the hardware store. You can look under quarter round or cove moldings.
