Wall construction in solid construction method - experiences?

We have just finished building and ended up with a massive two-shell wall construction: 17.5 cm Poroton + 20 cm core insulation + 11.5 cm Poroton + exterior plaster. A brick facade was not allowed by the development plan.

May I ask how you designed your windows with this wall construction? With straight reveals or slanted ones?

We have "normal" reveals, so everything is rectangular. Or what do you mean?

With thick walls, the reveals can be tapered to let more light into the house. This is often seen in historical houses.

But we are actually not talking about thick walls here. Besides, historically, houses up to old castles have a completely different window-to-floor area ratio. You don’t really notice the "thick" walls in today’s buildings, or conical reveals wouldn’t have any noticeable benefit (in my case, they are a good 55cm, which hardly stand out – old building with new insulation).

We are building solidly with 42.5cm unfilled bricks and achieve KfW40.
