You could still take the 1.65 x 1.00m niche as a walk-in shower and have a glass door on the side as the entrance. Either you build up the entire 1.65m wall and leave only space for a shower door, or you glaze the entire 1.65m including the door. Then the shower would be very bright – but more demanding to clean.

I actually didn’t want a door because I want to avoid cleaning effort. The hinges and so on don’t look nice after a while. But that will probably be the easiest. Or I put the door on the niche and the shower in front of the current door. With the shifted door, the bathroom gets a more pleasing shape. Unfortunately, the interior walls are already in place and moving the door costs extra money.

Or combine something

There is still some cleaning effort, but wiping down a simple glass wall takes less than half a minute. I think the niche is perfect for something like that.

danixf, I also chip off the tiles. But it only takes half a minute. Your shower turned out well - wall + glass. Looks good and is definitely practical. I want to avoid doors and hinges and corners on the shower wall. How big is your shower?

The picture is just from the internet (unfortunately). We have about 1m x 1.20m. One side with a 2.10m high wall... but we also have an extra spot light inside the shower.

You avoid doors and hinges like this... avoiding corners will be difficult.

None at all. That’s why I have only one here (#9), and its purpose is to link to the crosspost – but you could have done that yourself.
