Hello,

so we visited the same model home park (Villingen-Schwenningen) several times, but mostly to get a feel for the size of the rooms with furnishings and to gather some ideas. It really helped more when we looked at houses from our home provider, either from builders who are currently building or those who already live in them.

Although we have now moved in ourselves, we still sometimes like to go to the model home parks just to smile a bit about what is said there and what actually becomes reality during construction.

Best regards

I was also at the old park in Wuppertal. I actually found it quite nice to get some inspiration. What was not so great was the behavior of an exhibitor. I found their displayed house quite interesting back then and had requested information. After some research, however, this company was no longer interesting for us. I then also communicated this lack of interest to the salesperson. Subsequently, the company passed on our address data to financiers and craftsmen, etc. Even 2 years later, we are still being partially annoyed with calls and advertisements...

I can agree with that. We were in two parks and quite impressed by the conversations in the houses from H...a. This provider became our favorite until the regional salesperson visited us. If he had made some effort, we would have become customers. So now we have found a construction company that responds individually to our ideas.

You should also be careful not to sign anything there. I know – you would NEVER do it, but suddenly, it’s happened anyway :(.

In general, I agree with the statements that you can get ideas and a feel for the rooms. For example, after looking at the catalog of a house with a dormer, we were impressed. But when we then saw the house, we knew that this dormer was just money thrown away – barely usable (it was divided by a wall into two rooms) and only minimal space gain.

Also, we could see how big a room with a knee wall actually is (or how small with, for example, 60 cm or 80 cm knee walls). For us, it was clear that nothing would work under a 1.30 m knee wall – so now we ended up with the town villa variant or town villa roof.

In short – go through, look around, and collect ideas/impressions. It will be difficult to evaluate what you have seen with a clear head, but it can be helpful.
But keep in mind – there are often very well-trained salespeople sitting there who can make your mouth water.

We did not visit the exhibition to be convinced by commission-hungry salespeople of their construction system. We were only there to get inspired regarding room layout, window positioning and sizing, room sizes, and so on. For that, I find the exhibitions wonderful. Tip: just say that you have already built and all trades have been assigned. Then even the most persistent salespeople will leave you alone.

Anyone looking for independent and objective information about wall constructions, etc., will certainly not find it at a prefabricated house exhibition.

Hello,

??
- please don't lump all sellers together :(

Greetings from the Rhineland

We signed in the model home park. But only after several and longer conversations with the seller. We went there several times and if you have an appointment with one of the sellers, you don’t have to pay the entrance fee anymore.

However, I can also confirm the partly missing interest of the sellers. According to internet research, I really liked B**n-Z***er. They even have two houses in Poing. Unfortunately, there was no seller to be found in one of the houses and in the other house they were sitting nicely together over coffee and chatting (no, they were not customers). After we stayed near them for about 15 minutes, none of the sellers thought it necessary to approach us.

Sorry - they get prospects served on a silver platter. It’s probably not too much to ask to simply ask if they can help, right?
