Vinyl flooring - Are health risks to be excluded?

What is to be made of the danger potentially posed by vinyl floors? Keyword, among others, plasticizers, etc. We wanted to install this flooring, among other places, in the bedroom and children's room. When researching on the internet, you find the most varied opinions. Especially Ökotest does not have a good word to say about the coverings. Isn't parquet also contaminated with chemicals due to its processing? What about cork? How do you assess the risk from your point of view, and what would possibly be a "healthier" alternative?

The question is, what can it cost and what is allowed?

If I go to the hardware store and get vinyl flooring for 5€ per sqm?

Just go to a specialist wood dealer and get advice there. They especially have an overview of ecological flooring.

By the way, you oil today's wooden floors.

A real parquet is probably too expensive.

A normal solid wood floor is now already affordable in terms of price.

However, for large areas it is usually glued down. So you have to be careful with the adhesive...

We completely failed with a PVC- and pollutant-free vinyl... it actually seemed very sturdy, but is totally brittle and practically crumbles apart. It was priced at 27 euros per square meter. That also doesn't seem to be the real deal - in at most 4/5 years it will be done for. I would probably tend towards parquet if price and appearance are acceptable.

When it comes to what is healthy, just lay tiles, and if it should be more homely, then in wood look.

Purely for health, cork is probably the best option. However, we don't feel bad with parquet either...
