Vinyl floor scratches! Are there ways to remove them?

I guess there’s not much that can be done. There are wax sticks and such for parquet, but we haven’t had good experiences with them. The brand-new parquet in the last rental apartment looked like we had done something terrible to it after 1.5 years. It was probably poor quality. In the apartments before, we had different coverings (laminate, strip parquet, PVC, wooden floorboards) and it never looked like that. We installed good laminate in the house, and so far nothing has scratched despite 2 cats, 1 dog, and 2 small children... Not even in the entrance hallway, where dirt and sand are constantly brought in from outside. As for vinyl... I would just accept it and put in a different floor next time. Tearing it out now is probably not very productive and the effort is hardly worth it. The scratches apparently aren’t visible at first glance anyway. It wouldn’t be worth the effort for me. Do you have a photo of the damage?

I know what you mean...

But my cheap Lammin from the old place doesn’t get scratched with sandy feet. The sand actually drilled into the feet instead.

But all good.

I don’t want to make vinyl worse than it is! But it really isn’t anything new. The look/feel has improved compared to PVC. But basically, it’s still the same and simply too expensive for that.

So those are some pretty serious scratches. Something MUST have happened, you just didn’t notice it. These aren’t scratches from a bit of dirt or the child riding a Bobbycar, they are that long and the coating is worn off... I think you weren’t careful with something there. Nevertheless, I would leave it as it is now. The scratches are big, but not something worth replacing (at least in my opinion). Of course, it’s annoying, especially since the scratches are quite light and the floor is rather dark. Someone here wrote that they simply traced over it with a colored marker, maybe you could try that here with a brown Edding or something?

I just looked at the pictures of your scratches. I had similar scratches from chairs in the dining room. I ordered [Kratzer bei Vinyl oder Laminat entfernen / unsichtbar machen] on eBay. My scratches disappeared with this cloth. That would be my tip for you.
