Um, I'm not really concerned about being hacked. It's more about the WLAN simply failing. For example, in our current apartment it happens roughly every six months for a few hours. And it was just a guess as to why intercom systems via WLAN – in my previous perception – are rather seen as a makeshift solution. I myself am not necessarily against it, but it confused me that it seems to have more of a negative connotation. Nope, we got advice and think we're well prepared. If I wanted to generally compensate for security with cameras, I'd have to do that in other places than at the front door, I think. Regarding WLAN options/locations: We haven't set up anything yet, since we don't live in the house yet.

Have you laid cables and connections for access points? Or just classic telephone sockets somewhere and the obligatory LAN socket in some rooms?

A question about that:
While researching, I came across the Balter EVO. Would that be such a "real" two-wire intercom?
It gets decent reviews at the major retailer and is appealing in price with a few hundred euros.
The prices from 2N are different there ...

I (still) don't know. :( We blindly relied on the electrician's recommendation, and that was quite a while ago. I will ask.

I have a bad feeling, but hope dies last. You do know exactly what was agreed with the electrician, or did you really just say "one network please"?

I have the same feeling.
In our current apartment, almost everything runs over Wi-Fi. The TV has a cable (not anymore in the new house), but we only stream now.
Only one PC is connected via LAN, and for that we had planned a connection in the study during the walkthrough with the electrician back then. (There are also more LAN connections available, but I can't say exactly where right now.) So nothing else caught our attention while discussing. Obviously, we hadn't thought about the fact that there is more area to cover in the house (that's what the access points are for, right?).
Oh dear, we thought about a lot of things quite well, but in this case we really just relied on the electrician. :(
