Upper floor windows starting from 0.8m up to about 1.62m, is it reasonable?

Hello,
we want to build and have received a draft from our developer (our first choice). Meanwhile, after changes, the 3rd draft. Initially, we received a draft for a gable roof, but this was not what we wanted. Now we want a staggered shed roof and have received the plans for this.
The downstairs is great so far, the upstairs room layout is also super, with one catch: in 3 rooms (long side walls) the slope starts at about 2.20 m. As a result, the windows have to start at 0.8 m room height and are rather short (up to room height 1.62 m), also due to the roller shutter box height of 0.23 m, possibly a bit wider instead. At first, we did not really notice this limitation negatively, but after measuring it at home with a tape measure, we have doubts. How does it look? Does anyone have experience?
I am 1.88 m tall, so I always look against the roller shutter box (which are supposed to be there, otherwise there would be about 20 cm more) or the wall when I look outside. (concerns the study, children's room)

Any ideas, suggestions, experiences,
thank you in advance
Trunky

Hello Trunky,
I like the ribbon windows, and we had initially planned, with a knee wall of 130cm, to install at least a floor-to-ceiling ribbon window in the gallery instead of a roof window (also staggered shed, long side). However, it must be said that due to the slope, we cannot stand directly in front of the window but only about 2 meters away...
I would check with you whether it is a window that people will look through or if it is only intended for lighting. If the desk fits in front of this window, one will probably look through it at sitting height and from a greater distance.
The depth is even suitable for the children's room.
You can also draw the cross-section of what you will see: window height with the distance from the viewer and their eye level.
Otherwise, check whether roller shutters are needed on these windows.

Just a silly question. Why make floor-to-ceiling windows if you then place furniture like a desk in front of them?
If the teenager then sits at the desk in a short skirt, the boys next door will be happy

If there are no radiators under the windows anymore, you block off the wall surfaces with floor-to-ceiling windows.
I don't understand the trend.

@Musketier, this is not about floor-to-ceiling windows, but about "lowered" window bands.

I already noticed. 80 cm height is more like the top edge of the desk. That works.

But I have also stood in a model house where all!!! walls in the children's room were covered with something (window with radiator, door, sloping roof). And the only side where you could even place a desk was equipped with a floor-to-ceiling window. Well, great.

Back to the topic:
I have never dealt with shed roofs, but can't the knee wall be raised a bit or does that spoil the exterior appearance?

With a staggered shed roof, you have two different knee walls. In this case, I think it concerns the higher knee wall. If this were raised, you would probably end up with a second full story and no longer remain within the half-story (1/3 rule). The proportion to the two shed roofs should also be correct. If the higher one becomes even higher, the offset is no longer attractive because it is too large.
