So this is not within your tolerance range either, but it is simply not clean and professional work?

I have no idea how the tolerance range is regulated legally, and we are probably really spoiled by our craftsmen - but what you describe would definitely not be okay for me. I wouldn’t want to pay for it like that. Now you just have to calculate how quickly and for what price you can get another company... are you under time pressure? If not, I would look for someone else.

I'll put it this way, if the slots were just crooked, it would still be okay since you fill those in anyway. But not getting switches and sockets aligned or installing ceiling outlets with more than 15cm deviation from the plan is absolutely unacceptable.

I am a bit shocked right now - as far as I know, the slots or the cables should lie straight. Otherwise, you practically can't estimate later where the things run and have to be nervous with every drill hole for a cabinet, etc. And marking it would cause additional costs? Um... what kind of company or boss is that? I would try to have an urgent conversation with the boss again and make it clear to him that THIS is not good work and you would like to stop. In my opinion, he should be glad that he doesn't have to restore the original condition and pay compensation - but unfortunately, you probably won't get that through. It's a shame actually. Such bunglers should be banned.

Hello Laynne,

I don't think it's right. Otherwise, you can always make corrections afterwards when the dining table lamp is right above the table, the bathroom light cable exactly above the bathroom cabinet, the dishwasher socket near the dishwasher, etc. We had that, it definitely shouldn't be like that.

Normally, the drawings showing where and how things are installed are part of the contract and therefore it must also be where you decided. With the crooked slots, I see it as given that you can't drill near the slots without first using a metal detector to find out where the cable meanders.

I would involve the trade association chairman of the district. You can pay him by the hour if he is to take a look at it. The electricians consider themselves the top of the construction trade, but that rather puts the cherry on top of the matter. The business owner should deploy his clumsy worker in a less harmful way.

Best regards, Gabriele

This has nothing to do with tolerance, here one can assume that the rest is done just as carelessly. So a professional execution can definitely be doubted. In this case, I wouldn't pay anything. Even after being asked, nothing significant has changed.
