With us, the main contractor has taken over the turning.
Ask the neighbors if you are allowed to put it down.

What do you mean by turning?

We are building in a gap site, everyone around is long-established and some of the plots are fenced. I am happy to look around again as we had the idea too, but I couldn't find a suitable place...

The signs and the traffic light were turned away in the evening

We also had a construction gap. Our neighbor is the town hall and they cleared parking space for containers and the like

What kind of street is this? Residential access only? Friends of ours once completely shut down a residential access street for 6 months (!), due to costs. It wasn’t a problem. Residents were naturally pissed off, but what can you do when you build at the end of a dead-end street and only one truck fits in there, which then has to back out again?

Not a residents-only street. A "normal" 30 km/h zone side street that is a bit narrow; two cars could pass each other, but one side is always parked on, depending on how the houses are arranged, so it's basically always obstructed on one side. Because of that it’s tight by the property and the construction manager says it’s not possible without closures.
