With us, they were done after 4 days. But I was told 14 days before it started. And on your topic, first you have to live nearby to inspect it daily, point 1. Point 2, I do my work in such a way that the customer is satisfied, and even a child can see these defects that are present and a blind person can feel them! So your statement is rubbish, sorry. I have a site manager and the company for that! Otherwise, I could have assigned all trades myself. Exactly that is what I didn’t want.

Your and my view/assumption about the quality of one’s own work is indeed correct. But here in the forum and during the installation of my sliding door (last work in the house) I learned that this view applies to construction work or is taken for granted.

I don’t know how you build, whether with individual trades (with architect and additionally a site manager) or a general contractor. But a site manager coordinates the trades and is your contact person for any escalation. He does not ensure the quality of the work performed on site.
What I have understood here through the forum is that it is necessary for the builder to be on site. If you cannot do that because you live too far away, this kind of result will happen.

It may be that our main contractor site manager is an exception, but he has already found one or two mistakes that neither I nor our expert had noticed. There are also good ones.

Of course there are! But initially, everyone presents themselves in an excellent light, even if that’s not the case. The journeymen who installed my sliding door to the living room 1. damaged the tile when drilling the fastening into it, meaning it broke, and said nothing. 2. smeared the break with some kind of putty so it wouldn't be visible! I called the boss and told him everything; he said he would sort it out and come by! The next morning he asked his employees if everything had gone well during the installation. Their answer: "Yes boss, everything's fine." When he then confronted them with the photos, their faces fell. They thought the customer wouldn’t notice and that it wasn’t a big deal. Yeah, right. The perspective on construction is mostly quite different.

Not everything that does not please the layman is simultaneously a defect, and not every defect is visible at first glance (e.g. sealing, non-load-bearing substrate, cavities, slope, etc.).

When I look at the pictures like this, I have to think of the report "fliesenleger-will-keine-Ingenieure-von-Audi-und-Siemens-als-Kunden" many of the defects you mentioned are unfortunately of a visual nature and not real defects. I am really curious how the site manager will handle this; hasn't he commented on it in the past few days?
