Your and my view/assumption about the quality of one’s own work is indeed correct. But here in the forum and during the installation of my sliding door (last work in the house) I learned that this view applies to construction work or is taken for granted.

I don’t know how you build, whether with individual trades (with architect and additionally a site manager) or a general contractor. But a site manager coordinates the trades and is your contact person for any escalation. He does not ensure the quality of the work performed on site.

I called the boss and told him everything; he said he would sort it out and come by! The next morning he asked his employees if everything had gone well during the installation.
