Hello,

soon the tenant will be moving into a small one-room apartment. The bathroom is certainly a bit older (see pictures - the door and frame have already been painted white).

My idea would be to retile the bathroom and install new fixtures. No new pipes are to be laid.

The bathroom is relatively small, I estimate around 2-3 sqm. Just around the corner to the right is a small shower tray.

Can a layperson tile something like this? I do have the desire and interest, and there is always a first time, or rather, you have to learn. And it is not my own apartment, nor a high-priced rental.

I would have to buy tools. My craftsmanship skills are average.

How do you assess the whole thing?

Best regards

PS: I have painted tiles in the neighboring apartment. It was a lot of hard work and I’m unfortunately not entirely convinced by the result.

Are you a tenant?
Then the landlord must agree,
otherwise dismantling threatens upon moving out.
Maybe the landlord will allow tiling if you ask nicely and you rent with a newly tiled bathroom :)

Then of course you may also flow without asking.
Observe all the rules of the profession ( da lernen manche drei Jahre für),
and off you go, have fun with it.
Warning, YT videos do not replace professional training, but can be useful to you

Tiling such a cute little bathroom is a good start.

To make it perfect (at least the tiles), use a leveling system like, for example, from Karl Dahm. Then, even as a layman, you can easily align large formats on the wall yourself.

But it’s a very brown kind of white. :D If you want tenants again afterwards, I’d have it done. ;) Try it out in your own basement…
