Aren't 60x60 tiles especially suitable for my problem?

I don't want my 1.2 m hallway (6 meters long)
(2.6 tiles side by side) to look like a narrow tube. And the hallway leads into a wide 3x3 meter entrance area and then into the open kitchen. I just don't want the hallway to look narrow and still not change the laying direction when it goes to the entrance area and towards the kitchen.

The format is ideal for that, or am I thinking wrong?
