Hello,

I am currently in the shell construction phase and 100mm STO Neopor is being used. Since I am building abroad, everything is a bit more complicated. Since I am exposed to stronger winds by the sea, STO recommends using anchors. My fear when anchoring – as you probably know – is that something will later be visible on the facade.
Sto has a new screw anchor for a unit price of 80 cents. At 1600 pieces, that becomes quite costly.

I have now done some research and wanted to ask you if there is a normal standard anchor that absolutely does not show through later through the reinforcement and the plaster. I found something online for a third of the price which is recessed and has a disc placed on top.

Does anyone have practical experience with that?

What do you think??

Thanks!!!

Hello Topanga, I have used such recessed thermal dowels on the dormers at my place (insulated last year). Into the dowels themselves (where the screws go in) additional "plugs" are inserted, then the rondelle is placed on top. For me, that was at the time the only acceptable dowel. I cannot provide long-term experience with this, but I am optimistic that this significantly reduces the risk of the dowels visually settling over time. Currently, the dormers still look like on the first day =). This year I am treating the facade with the same method. Good luck with your task

The appearance results from the thermal bridge. I don't think that reinforcement or plaster will change anything about it. You need the appropriate anchors with the rondelle on top.

Alex85, it was never claimed that it was the plaster :) His question was already related to the anchors. And I share the same opinion - hopefully the facade will remain nice as well.
