The price from the gardener is justified - can something be omitted?

So depending on the type of work (blocking the road, where I just see the picture) I wouldn't care whether I can do it or not - I'd rather have the advantage of a company that I can kick in the ass or that has to take responsibility if something goes wrong.

You don’t save much either when you do the gardening yourself, for me it is a waste of time. I’d rather pack my mountain bike and spend time in the mountains.

Of course a lot of time goes into it, but when something is finished, it’s a feeling of happiness like being on drugs.
the prices that the landscape gardeners quoted were beyond 35k euros... That would never have been worth it to me since I am an ordinary worker.

Yes, doing it yourself is rightly a source of pride. But I find it much more sensible for the interior finishing. If you still have the capacity and desire, you can continue outside as well.

I only know many do-it-yourselfers who still don't have a garden after 5 years. For us, everything was finished and already green after 5 weeks, with beer on the terrace priceless

We had the garden prepared as far as possible, meaning removing junk, loosening the soil, adding topsoil, building a dry stone wall, laying a path, and then I helped with planting the shrubs. But, well, and max 250sqm, so not 35k. Although we might have paid that too if the terrain had required it. Nonsense no – we probably couldn’t have afforded such a property with such extreme costs for the outdoor area without making compromises on the house. It’s good the way it is.

So here in the forum, 35k euros are peanuts...
