Thatched single-family house developer specialists wanted!

Good morning,

After several years, we are now on the home stretch to securing our desired plot of land and we are already supposed to involve architects for planning purposes.

Since we want to build a thatched roof house, this is proving difficult because there is somehow no really substantial answer despite numerous search queries.

We are looking for a builder who has experience with thatched roof houses.

We come from the southern vicinity of Hamburg.

It's a pity that the headline cannot be edited: a developer would be wrong here, what is needed is a general contractor – if at all.

A thatched roof house is no longer a matter of course even in the NDR broadcasting area today; I would rather look for a specialist at the architect level who still knows and can do this.

After all, this also involves special features in the roof structure, concerning suitable slopes, dormers, etc.

Possibly it helps here to approach the problem backwards: ask specialized roofers which architects they work with.

Actually, that doesn't exist: either there is a development plan – then it becomes difficult if, for example, it requires a roof pitch of 35° or less – or it follows §34, then integration into the surrounding development is required.
