I don’t quite understand that now... Is nothing being laid at all with you now? Not even the bathrooms and kitchen with tiles? How many square meters are we talking about? Why are you planning to lay parquet in a storage room? Tiles would fit best there. Have you really not budgeted at all for any floor coverings of "normal" quality? What differentiates the amount for the house (ready for covering/turnkey)? Was it really worth it? How many more square meters do you have now? It’s usually the craftsmen’s costs that people like to save when doing everything themselves. Living for several years on bare screed, which might also be stained with paint and other things, is not nice and hardly reflects quality of life. Basically, screeds are always sealed before a covering: that’s something like a primer, but it’s not nice! Coatings are more expensive than standard coverings.

We already have a budget for normal floor coverings. However, they are supposed to be installed gradually. Here, time is more of a factor because we don't want to stay in the old apartment for many months until everything in the house is finished. Hallway, living room, children's room, and bedroom first, and then the office and guest room. The 4-5 years were estimated very generously. I hope that we will have finished most of it within a year. I just don't want to damage the screed if you put a few pieces of furniture and boxes on it.

Hello,

What does "belagsfertig" mean? The version that comes to my mind includes more than just laying the floor coverings.

Rhenish greetings

... will probably also affect the walls?!

So, the screed should be "sealed" with primer in good time, then it is less sensitive to dust and easier to sweep. Still, it’s not nice, and what you don’t manage before moving in will take a factor X longer than if you do it before the move. It’s best if you have the key to the house, then you can get some work done "between" the tradespeople (i.e. after work or on weekends). This also applies especially to the walls, because applying deep primer is a hard job. Our plumber told us when the heating would arrive, so we could paint the walls there already. The site manager also advised us to do the painting work before the tiler... so if the coordination works well, you can accomplish a lot before handover :)

Happy New Year to everyone! :D

Yes, the painting work is still to be done. But I wasn't worried about that because we have done it often enough before. Of course, we will do as much as possible before moving in, but we don't want to postpone it for too long. It is also clear that it takes longer once you are living in the house, but we don't need all the rooms at the beginning. For those, we can take it a bit more easy. There are also still tasks to be done in the outdoor area :-)
