Well, at most as an alternative option. If Telekom takes 20 weeks to install a new connection, you can't just switch like that when you need to.
It is definitely convenient (assuming appropriate contract terms) to be able to switch providers from one month to the next.
How is it actually possible that electricity, gas, and telephone/DSL are liberalized, but there are regional monopolies in cable?
But I am also facing the decision. In the area where my BV is, DSL is only available up to 16 MBit/s. Cable is quite normal though. Unfortunately no fiber optic (not even as a planned expansion).
Therefore, I will definitely go with cable. Whether I also take Telekom along, I don't know yet.
Does anyone know if the fiber optic expansion possibly does not require a new house connection fee if you already have a classic telephone/DSL connection? So, is Telekom somehow lenient if you are already a customer and basically just want to upgrade?
Best regards
