Hello everyone,
I have purchased a house in Cologne, which will soon undergo renovations.
There is a typical prefabricated garage there, measuring 3.00m x 6.00m. At the back, there is a door leading to a carport. So far, this has only been used as a storage space for tools, etc. Access by car is also not possible there, as there is no driveway into the garden/towards the carport, and the passage between the house & the garage (a gate) is about 1.60m wide, so I don’t find building a carport behind the garage very sensible anyway.
Since this carport is also very dilapidated (beams already broken, supported by a beam), I plan to replace it completely. I am considering tearing down the entire rear garage wall and replacing it with an electric gate so that I can then park the car under the (new) carport.
There is no development plan in the settlement. Would I be allowed to do this accordingly? Or could I even simply extend the garage backwards with KS blocks? Would I need a permit from the building authority or even approval from the neighbor?
