That is quite a palace. I don't want to disappoint you, but with the current price explosions, that will probably not be within the budget. I have 630k in mind for you now, minus land, outdoor facilities on a hillside location, garage, that roughly leaves well under 2500€/sqm.

A pretty lame joke goes: "Dad, the cars behind us aren't driving any faster either." Rhineland-Palatinate and Saarland are virtually almost entirely a nowhere, and the corresponding banks are, after all, located there "right in the middle".

Do I interpret this as "Collateralization could work," or rather not?

Why are these places called no-man’s-lands? They are all full of people there. Crowded, almost too crowded. Highways, rail lines with overhead wires, all full of factories. Go to East Vorpommern or to the Eider-Treene depression, where the villages are called Elend and Ekel, then you’ll know what emptiness is.

The pictures are at least beautiful. :) Yes, that's true, it is densely populated, but it's more like village after village, few big cities. I think for household services, building big here makes sense anyway. But I wonder if this is common in the small villages here and if the bank would go along with something like that. Because you only get such a high loan with a land charge, and if the bank thinks that in the worst case they wouldn't get as much as we have to mortgage there, then it could look bad? Although I was also surprised how highly our house here could be mortgaged.

Somewhere in the middle of nowhere is nice, you’re not sitting on your neighbor’s lap, there’s a bit of nature. The downside is less communication and more farmers ;). If it’s not the East, at least no Nazis. I would just think twice about taking on so much money – that ties you to work. When I think about it, even with three or four people, it doesn’t need 200m², rather love, affection, and time.
