Surveillance camera for outdoors

I would like to get surveillance cameras. Unfortunately, you are flooded with offers and some cost 1500 euros and some 300, although I hardly notice a difference in some of them. Therefore, I wanted to ask if anyone has a lot of knowledge or experience with a good set.

I would like to have 4 cameras, which should be for outside. They should also have Wi-Fi, as I don’t necessarily want to lay cables everywhere, and a live transmission to the phone via app or otherwise. Additionally, an extra activatable alarm would be good, which can preferably only be activated at night. The problem is that I don’t want people to immediately recognize the cameras on my house, so they should preferably have a black casing. I would hang them on my balcony and then point them in the direction of my house. The pedestrian path will be recorded, as my property extends to the street, so there should be no legal issues.

I would want to spend a maximum of 500 if that is feasible. I hope someone can help me as soon as possible – the reason is that in front of my house, young people often vandalize and, for example, every year on New Year’s Eve, someone comes by at night and throws a LaBomba into a stone trash can that stands in front of my house. EVERY YEAR THE SAME THING. Now I’ve had enough and this year I will go to the police, hopefully with good video footage.

You are approaching this the wrong way: 1. You must not monitor any public area (e.g., street, sidewalk...) 2. You must not monitor your property without signage (Google DSGVO video surveillance sign). That means people must be informed when they enter the property and/or are being filmed. 3. Always use a camera with a cable and not WiFi 4. No dark housing due to overheating Even with good cameras (e.g., Axis or Mobotix), the height, settings, etc. must be correct. How did you want to record? Since cameras are basically ruled out for the reasons mentioned above, I will spare myself a detailed description of the differences between cameras. I also hate it when other people's property is not respected. But the cameras will not solve your problem; instead, they will probably cause you legal trouble. Even with footage, the police will not launch a major manhunt over such a "minor issue." Penalties are probably very low as well... Better to lock the trash bin on the vulnerable days. Surely there is a way to do that.

Getting somewhat usable images will be difficult and yes, the police will have little interest.

Make a craft camera IN your stone trash can, maybe that will scare them off. Or it might encourage the youths to get into even more mischief. How about a hand truck for 50€ to take the trash can away for a night? Or take the lid inside the house so the thing doesn't burst.
