Storage boxes for cold roofs

How exactly is your roof constructed? Do you have an insulation layer on the rafters? My general contractor installs a 35mm wood fiber insulation on top of them. It probably won't do much, but maybe it reduces the peak temperature? And how do you ventilate the attic?

With us, only the ceiling of the top floor is insulated. There is no insulation between the rafters. We don't ventilate at all. The roof is windproof but not airtight.

To revive the thread once again, we will do exactly the same as Steffi33. I will probably be able to report in two years whether we had to throw everything away or if it works just as well as with Steffi. If the former happens, it was at least a good opportunity to declutter.

Additionally: We were able to store everything in our garage for several years without any problems, and nothing happened to it. Suddenly, water somehow got into the garage and mold formed everywhere. In addition, everything rotted in a short time. It seems that such "cold" storage places only need to get a little water inside, and it disrupts the entire climate inside.

I am also considering converting my cold roof into a warm roof.
Is it that simple? So, insulation between the rafters (Klemmfilz), vapor barrier on top, and done?

Since we are currently facing the same issue, I would be very interested in your experiences from the past two years. Since this year, we also have a cold roof and the first winter is coming up. At the moment, we have the clothes in Ikea storage boxes. It would be a real shame if the clothes didn't survive the winter.
